This album started life under the working title "Tonal Junk", a demo of which was reviewed by Nigel Lord in The Mix magazine in July 1995:
"Who would dare to use African drums and marimbas if they weren’t involved in producing those ethnic-y, rainforest-y, new-age CDs that are sold in shops full of aromatherapy products and tie-dye scarves? Erik Windrich that’s who."
"…his love of ethnic instruments now fuses with the use of samplers and other hi-tech gadgetry… The effect…is a stunning vindication of Erik’s highly eclectic approach and his confidence to use any instrument he likes, any way he likes."
"…very hi-tech and low-tech instruments co-exist quite happily and actually bring out the best in each other …Erik seems to have no problem getting everything to gel."
"the Vision thing" is the finished result, reflecting Erik’s interest in ethnotronics – the fusion of ethnic instruments and electronica. "Wyah" made it onto DJ Monkey Pilot's playlist at the celebrated Whirly Gig in Shoreditch .
