Erik’s interest in exploring music as language led him naturally to applied music and a post-graduate Diploma in Screen Music from the NFTS. The diverse disciplines of multi-media composition make it an exacting craft, from advertising through to film soundtracks.

Experience has made Erik appreciate the importance of communication to explore and establish the brief, setting boundaries within which the composer is free to interpret and express the vision.


The service offered by MKM is necessarily tailored to each individual client and the budget available. Original material is provided for each project, after full consultation with the client. The material is used under licence, which enables MKM to offer a more competitive price. Frequently those who commission music acquire rights that they are not in a position to benefit from in practice due to the rules of PRS.  By licensing, MKM collects the performance royalties and is therefore in a position to offer a lower commission fee.
